Beginners and experienced practitioners can expect gentle stretching, basic yoga postures and alignment principles, as well as informative instruction on the use of props and breath work. Each class focuses on active relaxation, reducing anxiety, stress and tension in both mind and body. It is the antidote to a hectic and busy modern life. Participating in restorative yoga on a regular basis can engender a feeling of being more rested, grounded, emotionally balanced and present in life.

Slower is stronger. Flow, or Vinyasa, means linking breath to movement. In a slow flow class, emphasis is still on moving with the breath but more time is spent in each pose. This helps create a deep and mindful experience where the focus isn’t on accomplishing something but instead experiencing something. Poses can be refined and strengthened without feeling rushed into the next move, next breath, or next pose.
For beginners this can take the pressure off as they wish to challenge their practice and move to the next level. For advanced practitioners, there is time to deepen and strengthen. Therefore, this is a challenging practice for all levels. Suggestions are offered to modify and/or up-level poses to create a truly personal experience of meditation in motion for each individual.

This yoga class is based in the form format, building from the foundation up in the asana (pose) with a gentle flow, linking the asanas together. This is a safe and sacred space for students to reconnect, strengthen, and deepen their understanding of the unique workings of their bodies.
